I have been to Nagoya MANY times since it opened and I will 100% continue going. The staff is very friendly and your drink will never sit empty. Depending on when you go, you may have a bit of wait because it is very popular seeing as it's the only sushi joint in the area. Lunch is normally always a good bet and they do have a bunch of lunch specials such as special rolls only served then or 2/3 rolls + soup or salad for a very good price. First off, I've gotten general tso chicken twice and loved it each time. It's always very hot which is a good sign and tastes amazing. Besides that, I always get 2-4 sushi raw and cooked rolls. I know my favorites but I always try to step outside the box. The only reason why I only gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes the rolls are not made the best. I still eat them, they are still good but they fall apart as soon as you pick them up. Besides that, I love it. They have so many sushi options as well as anything else you could think of. The crab rangoons are great. Quick service, friendly faces and very good food are the reasons why I will keep going to Nagoya.

Perhaps the best Sushi place I've yet had the pleasure of visiting, and I am a big Sushi fan. They have a large menu with a multitude of choices. They border on artistic in both the presentation and deliciousness of their Sushi Rolls. The fish was fresh and flavorful. The portions large. The service is great. The seaweed salad was delicious. They have no liquor license but you can order Saki "On The House" and it was good and smooth. Not sure how that worked out on our bill and I didn't ask because it was "on the house". Visit Nagoya Asian Bistro and try the Black Dragon Roll. An all around wonderful experience.

Stopped in for lunch today for the first time. Read some reviews prior to choosing to come here, and since most were very we decided to give it a try. Upon entering, i noticed that it was very clean and inviting. The hostess' were very nice and seated us immediately. Our server was over quickly to get drink orders. He was very nice and attentive to us. Overall, the service there was awesome!!! We had the bacon shrimp appetizer and the Japanese style shrimp dumplings ( can't remember the name of it ). The bacon shrimp were super and tasty ( although would have preferred the bacon be hot ). The shrimp "dumplings" were good but the texture was a bit squishy, which my wife was not a fan of. For me though, they were ok, as I can overlook the texture a bit. For meals, we had the shrimp lo mein and the bulgogi. The lo mein was ok, but it tasted like the flavor was that of a spice pack from a ramen package. The bulgogi however was awesome. It was like a Korean fajita..... It was served like a fajita on a sizzling platter and was full of meat, onions and peppers. It came with white rice and lettuce to make lettuce wraps if you wanted to. I would definitely order it again. The reoccurring theme for lunch was texture. The dumplings, cold bacon, bulgogi meat all had a soft and squishy texture, which can be a bit off-putting. The portions of the entrees were very nice. You definitely get enough!!! Overall, it is a solid 4 stars. If they can fix the texture issues I would give it 5 stars easily !!!!! I will surely go there again, but doubt my wife will since she really didn't like the textures.

Came for dinner on New Year's Day and was pleasantly surprised. Firstly, you would never be able to tell that this used to be an Arbys! It has been decorated into a nice restaurant. We sat at the sushi bar, was served by very attentive staff, and even given a Boston Bay Roll on the house! The sushi was amazing, especially for the prices. Only thing that some people may not like is that they haven't acquired their liquor license yet. BYOB is welcome, however.

Some of the best sushi I've ever had! Came in and ordered takeout, got the Crab Rangoon, Easter Roll, and Winter Roll (all recommended by the hostess). Can't say enough good things about this place. My husband and I are going back soon to dine and try some different sushi rolls!

I eat sushi frequently. Nagoya was quite good. Not the best I have ever had but noteworthy none-the-less. I was pleasantly surprised by the knowledgeable staff. I cannot have gluten and the waiter had many different suggestions and knew exactly what was in the various dishes. The waiters are a bit awkward in my experience.

Been here since the beginning - the service is great and food is fantastic as well. Currently, the best sushi restaurants in the area but you have to remember we are in Southern MD. Nothing special compared to high powered sushi restaurants in NY/Vegas/LA but for this area, it's worth the trip. Best thing? you can bring your own liquor!!

In Calvert County for a dance competition and was looking for something different. In the midst of strip malls and fast food restaurants, I didn't know what to expect. The food was excellent and fresh but almost as important, the staff was amazing. During the course of dinner, we had at least 5 different staff members come to our table to see if we needed anything. If I lived here, I would be here weekly. The food is that good and the experience is too.

Great new restaurant, it's surprising for Calvert County! I have been here 5 times in the last 2.5 weeks because it is just so good. They have so much selection and everything that I have tried on the menu has been really good. Great vegetarian and healthy options. I love the garden roll and AAC roll. Servers are friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable. Overall great restaurant!

We have been to Nagoya twice now and have really enjoyed it both times. The sushi is excellent, and the variety they offer is extensive. They offer dishes other than sushi such as hibachi and ramen. The servers have been very pleasant. The service was a tad slow on one of our trips but the restaurant was very busy that evening so that was understandable. When you walk in there, you'll never believe the place use to be an Arbys. The place is wonderfully decorated, and the sushi bar looks great. On another note, we took our 5 year old niece with us once and were very impressed by the kids menu. At most restaurants, it seems like the kids menu is an afterthought but here they gave her plump pieces of chicken with a generous portion of vibrant veggies.

This place wasn't too bad I ordered the #1 General Tso's Chicken (White Meat), it tasted like orange chicken I asked the waitress about it and was told they use the same sauce for orange chicken they just don't put in orange peels in it. My wife had the orange chicken I didn't like it, now the chicken in these dishes are really tender and tasty. The Chinese place at rt. 2 & 4 has the best sauce for this dish if these two place got together it would be awesome. I will go back and try the bbq steak dish. They also give you enough food to share with someone if your not really hungry.

I saw all the amazing reviews online so I figured I can't go wrong. It seems most of the reviews is for the sushi and maybe that is why I was very disappointed. I did take out, so I can't comment on actual service. My food was ready fast and everyone was super friendly when I walked in. I actually visited south korea and had Beef Bulgogi there and loved it. When I saw that on the menu I had to try it. This was NOT bbq at all. it was shredded beef with thin slices of peppers and onions, it was a stir fry. And the beef was extremely tough. I couldn't eat more than 1 bite due to the texture of the meat. VERY disappointed in this meal. The fried rice had a strange flavor to it that I can't quite place and no veggies or anything at all in it. I got a few other meals like sesame chicken it was OK. We also got several of the sushi rolls, LOVE the veggie choices. But I will agree with another reviewer that the rolls do not hold together they fall apart. I didn't have anything that I will crave and want to go back for. :( Very disappointing.

One of our favorite restaurants in Calvert County. Excellent choice for lunch or dinner with family and/or friends. We really are happy with the quality of the food and service delivered each and every time we have eaten at Nagoya. Highly recommended!

  • Cat K.

Have eaten there about 5 times since they opened. If you are going for sushi, great, as the sushi is okay. Do not order non Japanese foods like Pad Thai or Pho, very risky. Ordered the tempura meal, shrimp and vegetables. This is not tempura. The batter was extremely thick and was breaded in panko. There was absolutely zero seasoning, resulting in gummy and bland texture with a crispy exterior. They provide a very large platter of shrimp and assorted vegetables, and about 2 tablespoons of tempura dipping sauce, which was critical due to zero seasoning used in batter and coating material. When I was able to get the attention of our server, they immediately brought more sauce. Overall it was a disappointing meal. The service is excellent, the staff is very friendly and attentive, but if We really want authentic Japanese, I guess we will have to drive to Umai in Deale or down to St Mary's county.

Nagoya is the best restaurant in Calvert County. The food is amazing, the service is exceptional, the restaurant is clean, and we will continue to go back!!

Sushi!! Fantastic sushi bar here. Love love love it. Mouth drooling good. The hot food is good too. I've had a bunch of stuff on the menu (we eat here a lot) and pretty much everything is tasty. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the pho. That was kind of disappointing, not a lot of flavor. But, that being said, since that's the only item I've ever been disappointed by, this place is rocking. A definite need for PF. Service is great, the staff is always very animated and friendly with our son. In fact, when he was an infant they would hold him and play with him so we could eat. Seriously nice!

  • Michelle W.

This place is a hidden gem we came here for the first time for Valentine's Day after seeing the great reviews and driving by a couple times The house salad had a little too much sauce but we asked for one without the dressing and that was a lot better customer service was outstanding out of this world and they never let you have a dirty plate for long!! They also give you large portions too! We are very happy and the prices are reasonable too! This is the BEST place for Sushi we have encountered since moving here!

  • Teressa B.

This place is pretty great. The sushi is the best in the area. The service is fast, friendly, and efficient. I've learned that for some traditional American holidays when other places close early Nagoya is still open and still delicious.

Three stars for the food, five stars for service. We were promptly seated, milk brought for toddler (with lid) and tween, and the adults settled in to examine the menu. My local relatives were excited to bring me to a place that actually served sushi, and I agree, it was yum! The service was fantastic. The waitress started by bringing us hot towels and swiftly bringing drinks, after a short interval appetizers, and mains all arrived in a timely fashion. We had vegetable gyoza and spring rolls for starters. The gyoza had spinach wrapper, which was a tasty touch. The spring rolls were hot out of the fryer and were so piping hot they were difficult to eat. The accompanying sauce had a nice sweet kick to it. I had the black dragon roll which had a nice balance of eel, avocado, fish and crunch. The portion of ginger and wasabi were good, too. I tasted other plates - the bulgogi beef is what I can only suppose a Japanese version of bulgogi might taste like. It's stir fried beef with onions and peppers. Quite tasty, not really bulgogi tasting though. The teriyaki dish I also sampled was much better, light sweet sauce and perfectly seared meat. Holy moly the portions are generous! Everyone except me had leftovers. Currently BYOB.

Stopped in on a Sunday at lunch with my girl for some Sushi and boom, got a new favorite spot So many sushi choices on the menu that my head was spinning . We ended up getting tuna sushi combo , salmon sushi combo and the riverdale roll . Everything was fresh and beautifully prepared . They were busy yet our sushi came out pretty quick , I'm used to waiting awhile for sushi when a place is busy and understandably so . The service was good and the restaurant was clean . They don't have a liquor license so it's BYOB for now , we didn't know this time but gonna try that out next time for sure .

About as good as it gets for sushi in Southern Maryland. Nothing fancy, decent prices, generous portions. Definitely no longer a BYO! They now have a full selection of wine and beer.

We have been visiting this fine culinary establishment since it first opened when you could bring your own alcohol. The Miso soup is a perfect starter for what should be a varied choice of fine fresh sushi from their menu. Don't overlook the specials. We have visited with parties from 2 to 8 and the service has always been above par and not just for 'down here' but for anywhere. Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. I was hoping it could be our secret but... secrets out so mine as well tell :-)

This is the best restaurant in Calvert County for sure! The sushi is fresh and delicious. The employees are very attentive, but they aren't overbearing. The prices are very reasonable. They have an extensive variety of vegetarian sushi.

  • Nick P.

Lots of sushi...almost too many choices. The menu is overwhelming for a first time visitor, especially since they all sound very similar. The sushi is pretty good, though. Miso soup was mediocre-needed more tofu. My entree was a huge bummer. I ordered chicken katsu curry. I've had it lots of times at Japanese restaurants in LA and this was a poor attempt. No curry taste whatsoever, was served with a sweet and sour sauce (wtf?), and I had to pick thru all these random vegetables for my chicken. Sorry, this is not the chicken katsu curry I'm used to. Good restaurant by Calvert county standards, although Calvert is no culinary mecca. If I ever came back, it would be for sushi only. Extremely loud and crowded, had a terrible time hearing my girlfriend. Also, take some of the 4 and 5 star reviews with a grain of salt. They sound like they were written by an employee, especially when that's that person's only Yelp review.

For southern Maryland area you can't go wrong. This place beats out the sushi house in Deale even. Fantastic sushi, I had the Riverdale roll which was very good, highly recommend this place. Hard to believe this use to be an Arby's lol.

Ordered the lo mein, orange chicken and fried rice with the mochi ice cream for dessert and japanese sodas for drinks. Coming in its inviting. We were greeted and sat right away. We wee offered a high chair for my 2 year old and assistance. We didnt wait long for the waitress. She went over the menu with us before leaving. The food was really good!! The drinks were good. We didnt get the warm wet rags to wipe pur hands with but everything else was great! Had a great night!

I ordered take-out here on my birthday, it was there first weekend open. Let me just say their customer service was on point and it rather impressed me. I had said originally i would come back for the food but they insisted i sit and they would provide me with a free complimentary appetizer, so of course i was like 'sure!.' The appetizer was a seaweed salad of some sort, delicious is all i really can say. The sushi was amazing and so was the Chinese entrees my parents ordered. My parents said it was the best general T so's chicken in this area. Definitely the best sushi in the area, but even with living in DC and being a sushi fan i was very impressed. Will return and tell friends! GO HERE!

I need to write this review in the hope that any more people do not get there credit card number and info stolen. I have to say that the sushi here is wonderful! It is so good that several friends of mine and my wife and I would go here at least twice a week. It is a good restaurant BUT at least 20 people have had there credit info stolen and Nagoya is the comon denominator. It took the Calvert County Sheriff's office to put it all together. Several of my close friends had money taken from there accounts. Cards were made with their info and used at only 3-4 different stores in the Glen Burnie and Towson areas, ALWAYS these same stores. Gift cards were bought. Each of my friends had anywhere from $500 to over a thousand dollars taken from their accounts. Two Calvert Sheriffs went there for lunch one day and they used their credit cards to pay. Each one got hit about two weeks later. They got right on it and realized several Calvert residents had contacted them about the same problem and everyone says they were with friends and ate there together only to find that two weeks or so later they ALL got hit. It is suspected that there is an employee there that has a card reader and scans everyones card before or after the card is scanned at the register. You can check with the Sheriff's office if you like. This is TRUE!!!!!!!! Beware eating there, and pay with cash if you do. The food is quite good!!!

Great service! The staff is always polite and attentive. I've loved every meal there, so far. My favorites are the vegetable hibachi, spring rolls, cali roll, panda roll, fried shrimp, mango chicken... and the list goes on. Their miso soup and salad that comes with your meal are also both very delicious. The portions for meals are generous, too--in my opinion. The atmosphere is very nice, doesn't feel like Southern MD once you step inside. I say it's a "Must GO!"

    (5)
  • Kathi H.

The food here is okay, once you get it. Service is slow, and they don't serve everyone's meal at the same time. Ten minutes can pass between the first dish brought out and the last, for a party of even two. They don't seem to understand that people would prefer to eat at the same time. Not in shifts. Also, if you are supposed to get soup and a salad with your meal, make sure you do, because otherwise they will just forget and bring you the main dish. Then they are all apologetic. But this has happened several times, so it's a pattern. Appetizers come at the same time as your meal, then you don't want them. When this place first opened I was excited, but the service is so terrible that it's not worth the effort.

Absolutely the best sushi in Southern Maryland! The staff are friendly and the meals are to die for! Yum!!!!

Excellent sushi place. One point of interest is they have chopsticks only. I think they may bring a fork out to you if you ask. Very attentive wait staff and quality food. Would recommend.

This place is amazing. It's so nice to have a great sushi place to eat in Prince Frederick, usually we drive to Annapolis, but now we don't have to! The sushi was very fresh and the presentation was lovely. For 2 of us we each got a miso soup, split 4 sushi rolls (2 big and 2 small), and had desert the bill was only $38. The atmosphere is really nice, staff was very friendly, and food was amazing.

Let me preface this review by saying that I am from out of town, and live in an area with a ton of great, very authentic Asian BYOB restaurants. I come to the area once a year to visit family, and am always disappointed by the lack of quality restaurants. I am also a bit skeptical of "pan-asian" restaurants, because I think it's hard for restaurants to do so many different types of food well. Can you really nail sushi, thai, chinese, and vietnamese in one restaurant? Usually not. My guess is that they do some dishes much better than others (note one of the other reviews regarding so-so pho). Nagoya is a welcome addition to this area--it's, by far, the best place we've visited. First, BYOB is awesome. It keeps the price of tab down, and you get the bonus of drinking whatever you want. My husband and I brought our 2 small kids here. We ordered sushi rolls, veggie pad thai, and a steak habachi dinner to share. The veggie pad thai was excellent--all of the vegetables were incredibly fresh, and the portion was generous. And it was not overly peanut-ty, which is just how I like it. A decent deal at $10. The steak habachi was pretty good, but a bit pricier at $16. The steak was good, and was accompanied by sauces, rice, and veggies. As for the sushi, the quality of the fish was good. There was a huge selection of signature rolls, but they were dominated by cooked fish (often shrimp tempura). Many of the selections had fresh fish as well, but I was disappointed that nearly all of the offerings had a main ingredient of cooked fish. My guess is that this meets the demand of their clientele, but it's not something I am used to. That said, we liked everything we got, but would have preferred fresh fish signature roll options. We got some basic fresh fish sushi rolls for my 6-year-old (whose favorite food is sushi). Per my request, the sushi chefs cut the rolls into smaller pieces (10 pieces instead of 8) to accommodate my child. Awesome. I'm so glad to see this place open up! If this were in my hometown, I'd probably give it 3-4 stars. But, given the lack of quality restaurant options in this area, it's a 5-star, hands down.

Went for lunch on Christmas Eve. It was fairly busy at lunch time. They have a lot of lunch specials, but I just went with a veggie roll combo which came with three rolls, salad and soup. My husband got a lunch special, which came with a salad. The soup and salad were yummy, pretty standard pre-sushi fare. It was nice to have veggie options at a sushi place. My rolls were good. My husband said his spicy tuna roll was great, and the regular tuna was pretty good also. Service was very quick and friendly. We also got a complimentary extra special roll delivered to our table from the sushi chefs. That is a really nice touch. This place will never be particularly fancy since it used to be Arby's, but it's nice enough. They have a lot of options for non-sushi eaters too. We saw someone with a noodle dish that looked like it was a pretty large portion. Nice to have another quick lunch option.

I don't know where to begin. This place is one of the few examples of concept and execution that you will find in Calvert. Eximplary customer service, incredible food, beautiful presentation, and reasonable prices. The sushi chefs always remember my fiance and I and our tastes, often times offering up a sample of something new, ever expanding our pallet. We crave this place so much we can just accidentally bring up the subject and we must go. This place is a must try in Calvert. Did I mention they consistently carry TORO!!!

I've eaten Sushi all over the world and all over DC metro and this place is at the top! I have not tried any Thai dishes only sushi; it's fresh, fair quantity, great prices, and the presentation is awesome!!! They even had gluten-free soy sauce :) I recommend this to anyone in DC metro and everyone locally near Nagoya!

On a non-busy day, service was very slow. They combined my wife's vegetarian sushi and my fish sushi on one plate (knowing that these are two different orders and one person is vegetarian). Cutting corners to save a plate.

I'm new to the area, and was skeptical to try a new sushi place. I ventured out and tried Nagoya Asian Bistro, and I'm glad that I did. The menu is reasonably priced, and the sushi is fresh and tasty! Hands down, one of my favorite asian restaurants to frequent in Prince Frederick.

If you like fried sushi rolls smothered in sauces then this is your place. If you like classic quality sushi where you can actually taste the fish go someplace else.

  • Russell L.

After hearing that this place was really, really good I took my wife and daughter to check it out since we were in the area. I was disappointed. I got the "bento" which isn't hard to make. The sushi that comes with the bento tasted exactly like the sushi you can buy from the grocery store. I don't expect the sushi to be prepared the night before, thrown into the fridge, then used the next day. It's not hard to prepare a california roll. There are much better choices down in St Mary's County. Asahi and Okada prepare and serve better Japanese food.

This was my first experience with sushi. Overall I was very impressed with the food. We ordered a PF Roll, General TSO, and bulgogi. I can't wait to eat the PF roll again. The General TSO was very good, but I would not order the bulgogi again. The only 'issue' we had was it took about 45 minutes to receive our food although our waitress was pretty attentive, which is why I took away one star. I will definitely go back again.

So good! This is the best sushi we have had in Southern Maryland. Definitely worth the 20 minute trip. Our server was so nice and the food was great!

Came here for a birthday lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. We were greeted and attended to throughout our visit by the energetic and accommodating staff. I got the Rainbow Roll Box, which had plenty of food. The sushi was very good, and the other items in the box complemented it well. My fiancé got the Chicken Pad Thai which she liked but was not fully pleased with. We also shared an order of Crab Rangoon, which was very good, and some Fried Ice Cream for my birthday dessert. I even got to wear a mask and get serenaded for my birthday. This place is a must try if you're in Prince Frederick and looking for Asian food.

Decided to eat here on a whim. Noticed the new sign and glad we did! The service is fast and super friendly, the food is amazing. I don't think I've ever had sushi that was this good, and I always thought miso was just miso, but not here, it was amazing. Will be back for sure.
